CID Institute was founded in June 2002 as private entity in Life Sciences in Weilmünster Germany, emerging from a private, familiar based initiative to establish a combined nature science, regional study and artcraft production enterprise in Santa Fé de Bogotá, Colombia during the years 1999 until 2002.
In 2008 the Institute started it´s presence in Internet, raising an own Online-Publishing House, the CID VERLAG, to develop there it´s results from own studies in Nature Science (Biology) Regional Studies (The Nature of the Weil-Valley, The Colombian Berlin Settlements, The Oranges and Nassaus of the World) and further considerations about Human Biology, Social Ethics and Critical Medicine.
Since 2012 a restructuration of the internet performance started, setting up the enterprise as more active photo documentation unit with the task to accompany and to strengthen the intercultural growing together in Germany by documenting the new growing performances of a new shaped society considered as worldwide family. To realize that, the Institutes Image Branch FOTO CID assisted in numerous events, started to describe by images the german places named Nassau and Orange and travelled three times to China.
The year 2018 markered a second reorientation of the CID Institute to it´s initial roots and structures, the nature science, the edition of it´s own nature science and family history collections in the margin of the new founded CID INSTITUTE MUSEUM and the boosting of it´s fast successful growing BOTANICAL GARDEN, that demanded a more and more intense dedication. So, since 2012 the natural succession of the former "Wild Wood Garden" that surrounds the Institutes building was converted into a carefully managed refuge for seldom, endangered and not native ornamental plants and an artesanal production site of medical herbs. With great personal effort during the passed years also the Institutes building, constructed in 1969, could be saved by rebuilding a new, waterproofed roof.
The CID INSTITUTE is managed as sole proprietorship single person company by the diplomated biologist Peter Ulrich Zanger.
